Where to find current domain prices
Every domain extension has its own price, and registries adjust their fees from time to time. That is why the price list above comes straight from our shop. The binding price is the one the domain search shows you when you order.
Before you complete your order you will see the price for the first registration period and the price for renewals. If you want to move an existing domain to us, the transfer price is shown as well. There are no surprises after checkout.

How prices are made up
What influences the price of a domain?
Not every domain costs the same. These factors determine what you pay for an extension.
The registry
Every extension is run by a registry – for example the organisation responsible for a country code. The registry sets a wholesale fee, which is the largest part of the domain price.
Type of extension
Classic extensions such as .com or .de are usually inexpensive. Some newer or specialised extensions, for example for particular industries, can cost noticeably more.
Premium domains
Particularly short or popular names may be classified by the registry as premium domains. For these, a higher price applies, sometimes also for renewal.
Promotions and renewals
Registries occasionally offer reduced prices for the first year. Always look at the renewal price too, because that is what you pay in the long run.
Planning ahead
Domain renewal: what you should know
A domain is not bought once and for all – it is registered for a set period, usually one year or more, and then renewed. If a renewal is missed, the domain can expire. Your website and email addresses then stop working, and in the worst case someone else can register the name.
We therefore recommend keeping automatic renewal switched on in your control panel. You can see the current renewal price for every extension in the domain search, so you can plan your costs reliably. If you manage several domains, you can see all expiry dates at a glance in your customer area.
Privacy
Domain privacy and other included features
With many domain extensions the owner's contact details used to be publicly visible in WHOIS lookups. Domain privacy protects your personal data for extensions that support it, reducing unwanted advertising and spam. Some country-code extensions follow their own data rules set by the registry.
Every domain also includes DNS management, nameserver settings and DNSSEC for supported extensions. If you combine your domain with one of our hosting plans, you also get free SSL certificates, email mailboxes and our CDN – all managed in the same place.
